Study Break...

So I'm in the library... once again, oi vey, it's been 3.5 hours now, eeek. Finals are this coming week and then I.. am... done! Hell week commence.

Anyways, yesterday I went to see Cold War Kids/Death Cab for Cutie at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. The show was awesome. Ben Gibbard was rockin' and the music was great. The show, was kind of bland though. Ben Gibbard said all but two words, which was basically "Thank you!" every other song, but other than that the music trumphed everything! It was great hearing songs that I grew up with live. Ra Ra Riot also opened, and they were really great to say the least.

Anyways, I don't know anything about Baseball or anything but I ran across this article and it seemed a little rediculous... Tell me if you agree or not.

Anyways back to the grind. Love you guys.

Earth Day: Less than a week away

I've always loved animals. Disneynature comes out with Earth this Earth day, April 22,2009. I will most definitely go see this, the trailer already looks amazing.

2:38 AM

I haven't found the time to post, if it's not already blatant enough since my last post was at the end of 2008. Anyways, I will find time to update more now that my 2nd semester of college is coming to an end (in approx. one week) *cheeky smile*

So, I've devoted a lot of this week to school... I even slept in the library, blanket, pillow, the whole shebang. Here's my "Study 'list" (I just realized that all of these songs are pretty sad... I guess I'm a solemn student.

Well, It's almost an hour since I've started this post, so I should probably start my homework that's due in less than 7 hours, and hopefully I will get some sleep in...

Sidenote: For those of you that don't know, I have a radio show here at Grand Valley's Student Run Radio (WCKS THE WHALE) But, my last show of the semester is tommorrow. So you should definitely check it out. It streams online: Just click "Listen Live!" at http://thewhale.org and it will connect to your itunes. I stream "Tea Party" at 4pm-5pm on Thursdays, so check me out!

Curious Case

Benjamin Button: For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

BLAZED

Okay, So how dope are these new blazers? I want, haha. Too bad I just dropped like 5oo buckeroos on textbooks. But I just got my new incase backpack that I've wanted too. Dope!

I also got the black hardcase for my 15" Macbook Pro. It's badasssss.

Anywayyys, I should keep ya'll updated more on myself rather than the things I want, haha. Started the new semester the beginning of this week. I'm currently taking: Spanish, Physical Geography, Constitutional Law, International Relations, and American History since 1877. I like my classes alot more this semester, and it's going really good so far. I am so excited for this new year. I've been keeping fairly busy, coming home kinda late and I haven't even started my radio station duties yet! Not til this upcoming Monday. Busy, Busy, Busy. I like it alot. It's more... me.

Speaking of more me: I feel back to normal again. I have a renewed sense of joy, a certain outlook on life that seems familiar. It's weird, I feel as if I'm just sloughing off the excess, dusting things that pull me down. Towards the end of the first semester, I had been feeling worn out, some events had just drained me (how many times can i shatter until i break?). and just plain annoyed. But now I've hit the ground running, and I am just so relieved. I mean.. What does a New Year really even mean? That you no long write 08 on your checks? The symbolism of it though really helped me... I felt as if I couldn't start over, until the new year started. Speaking of starting over... If you guys have not seen "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"... watch it! I saw it on Christmas, and it was truely inspiring. In the ending scenes, there's a quote that really made me think: "If things get bad, I hope you have the strength to start over."

Anyways, I hope you all have had a wonderful second week of the new year. I know I have. Well, off to lunch with Alexander!

Love,
Tanya

Better to give than...

Christmas is tomorrow, and I am leaving for Houston in a couple hours! I am so stoked! Christmas is really all about family. I could care less if I get gifts as longs as I get to spend time with my family. But since we make it all about gifts, I love giving them!

I gave my parents/sisters their gifts early since I will be spending Christmas with my cousins this year.

Dad: Brookstone Digial Photo Keychain: On Sale!
Banana Republic Socks: On Sale!
Mama: Banana Republic Turtle Neck/Gloves
Talie: Got our hair didz/Nicholas Sparks book for the plane ride.
Tristie: Hello Kitty Build-a-Bear. What an embarrassing process by yourself....

Got myself: Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller.

Fave Lookbook today: How adorable is this boy, and his name's Jack too. I really don't know why I like that name so much. But anyways, it really bothers me when I see mall rats in skinny jeans with chunky white shoes. Joy be the day where I find a man that can dress himself. Jack? ;-)

I am totally supposed to be packing right now hahah. But I can't help but get distracted all the time. Anyways I came across this video a while back, and thought I should share it with ya'll. This song's about a year old, "US Placers" by off of Kanye's mixtape "Can't Tell Me Nothing." It's by Kanye, Lupe, Pharell and a sample of Thom York's "The Eraser"

Safe Travels, and a Merry Christmas.

Love,
Tanya
